Mission Statement: Acts 242 Christian Fellowship exists to glorify God by faithfully devoting ourselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. We are committed to Christ-centered worship, nurturing authentic community, and cultivating spiritual growth through the principles revealed in Scripture.

Vision Statement: To be a Christlike community recognized for humble, Spirit-led leadership and genuine care, modeled after the example of Acts 2:42 and the calling of 1 Peter 5. Through strong biblical teaching, compassionate shepherding, and dedicated service, we seek to equip disciples who love God fully, support one another, and bear witness to the gospel in the world. Acts 242 Christian Fellowship is committed to glorifying God through firm adherence to the Scriptural foundation laid out in Acts 2:42. The church’s leadership structure is anchored in the principles of 1 Peter 5:1-11, emphasizing the responsibility and humility essential for faithful shepherding of the Lord’s church. Consistent with the guidance of 1 Peter 5, the church is governed by a plurality of Elders who exemplify godly character and serve as undershepherds to the flock.

Church Structure: As an Acts 242 Christian Fellowship, we are committed to the biblical pattern of the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. We also believe the Lord has called His church to be shepherded by a plurality of elders, following the model seen in Scripture.

In 1 Peter 5:1–4, Peter exhorts the “elders” among the church. The Greek word for elders is plural: presbyterous (πρεσβυτέρους), showing a shared leadership among qualified men. Peter instructs these elders to “shepherd the flock of God” among them. The word for flock is poimnion (ποίμνιον), reminding us that the church belongs to God, not to man. He also says elders are not to domineer over those “entrusted” to them, using the word klēroi (κλῆροι), which carries the idea of an assigned portion or allotment. We believe this means elders are entrusted by God with the care of a specific body of believers.

Because of this, our elders share the responsibility of shepherding, teaching, protecting, leading, praying for, and serving the church family. Yet we recognize that Jesus Christ alone is the “Chief Shepherd,” archipoimēn (ἀρχιποίμην), and that elders serve as under-shepherds accountable to Him.
